MEASUREMENT, DESIGN, AND INSTALLATION RESPONSIBILITY POLICY
Effective Date: October 3, 2026
This policy explains the responsibilities of Ray Cabinetry LLC and the Customer regarding field measurements, project information, design approvals, site conditions, jobsite readiness, and cabinet installation.
“Ray Cabinetry,” “RC,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Ray Cabinetry LLC. “Customer,” “you,” and “your” mean the individual or entity purchasing products or services from RC.
This policy forms part of RC’s Terms and Conditions. A project-specific written proposal or agreement may add to or modify these terms.
-
IMPORTANCE OF ACCURATE INFORMATION
Cabinetry is ordered and manufactured according to specific dimensions, configurations, appliance requirements, finishes, and site conditions.
Accurate measurements and complete project information are essential. Errors or changes can result in products that do not fit, missing components, redesign, reordering, delays, additional shipping, added labor, or changes to surrounding construction.
Before RC submits an order, the Customer must disclose all known conditions that could affect the design, ordering, delivery, or installation of cabinetry.
-
RC FIELD MEASUREMENT SERVICE
RC may offer an on-site field measurement for a fee stated in the applicable quote or appointment confirmation.
The measurement service generally includes recording reasonably visible and accessible dimensions and site conditions relevant to the proposed cabinetry.
Unless specifically included in writing, a standard RC field measurement does not include:
• Destructive investigation
• Structural inspection
• Engineering
• Code inspection
• Permit review
• Verification of concealed utilities
• Removal of walls, cabinets, appliances, or finishes
• Testing for hazardous materials
• Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or gas-system evaluation
• Verification of conditions that are covered, inaccessible, or unfinished
• Confirmation of later jobsite changes
RC may rely on information provided by the Customer, builder, architect, appliance supplier, contractor, or another trade regarding concealed or unavailable conditions.
-
MEASUREMENT FEE CREDIT
If the Customer proceeds with a qualifying RC cabinet order or RC installation within 30 days after an eligible paid RC field measurement, the stated measurement credit will be applied as described in the applicable written quote.
The measurement credit:
• Is not redeemable for cash
• Is not transferable
• Applies only to a qualifying RC cabinet order or installation
• Cannot exceed the amount stated in the written quote
• Expires 30 days after the measurement unless RC agrees otherwise in writing
If the Customer does not proceed within 30 days, the measurement fee remains payment for the completed measurement service.
-
CUSTOMER-PROVIDED MEASUREMENTS
If the Customer supplies measurements or declines RC’s field measurement service, the Customer assumes responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of all measurements and site information.
Customer-provided information includes, without limitation:
• Wall lengths
• Ceiling heights
• Window and door locations
• Window and door trim
• Plumbing locations
• Electrical locations
• HVAC vents and equipment
• Gas lines
• Appliance specifications
• Flooring height
• Soffits
• Beams
• Columns
• Wall thickness
• Angles and corners
• Out-of-square or out-of-level conditions
• Obstructions
• Required clearances
• Accessibility and delivery limitations
RC may rely on Customer-provided information without independently verifying it.
RC is not responsible for ordering errors, design conflicts, product fit, missing components, replacement products, added freight, added labor, storage, project delay, or installation problems caused by inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, changed, or undisclosed Customer information.
-
CHANGES AFTER MEASUREMENT
Measurements and designs reflect the conditions that existed when the information was collected.
The Customer must notify RC before ordering if any condition changes, including:
• Demolition
• Framing
• Drywall or wall-finishing work
• Flooring installation
• Plumbing relocation
• Electrical relocation
• Appliance changes
• Window or door changes
• Ceiling or soffit changes
• Layout changes
• Structural changes
• Changes made by another contractor
RC is not responsible for conflicts caused by work performed or conditions changed after measurement.
A return visit, remeasurement, redesign, or order change caused by later site changes may require an additional fee.
-
DESIGN SERVICES
RC may provide cabinetry layouts, renderings, elevations, cabinet lists, and product recommendations based on the agreed project scope and available information.
Designs and renderings are planning and visualization tools. They are not architectural, structural, engineering, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or permit drawings.
Renderings may not display every:
• Filler
• Panel
• Molding
• Hardware component
• Clearance
• Appliance condition
• Construction detail
• Obstruction
• Field adjustment
• Color variation
• Natural material variation
The Customer should not rely on a rendering as a photographic guarantee of the finished project.
-
CUSTOMER DESIGN APPROVAL
Before RC submits an order, the Customer must carefully review and approve the final design and product list.
Approval confirms acceptance of:
• Room layout
• Cabinet placement
• Cabinet product codes
• Cabinet sizes
• Quantities
• Door style
• Finish and color
• Door swings and hinge directions
• Drawer configurations
• Finished sides and ends
• Panels
• Fillers
• Moldings
• Trim
• Accessories
• Appliance dimensions and clearances
• Sink and plumbing locations
• Installation considerations
• Assembly selection
• Delivery or pickup method
The Customer must identify any concern before giving approval.
Payment, signature, email approval, text approval, or another written authorization may constitute final approval.
-
CUSTOMER OR THIRD-PARTY DESIGNS
If the Customer does not purchase RC design services—or supplies a design, plan, cabinet list, or layout prepared by another person—the Customer assumes responsibility for the suitability and accuracy of that design.
RC is not responsible for:
• Design errors
• Missing cabinets or components
• Incorrect cabinet sizes
• Incorrect door swings
• Insufficient fillers or panels
• Appliance conflicts
• Clearance problems
• Code issues
• Aesthetic concerns
• Accessibility concerns
• Functional limitations
• Installation difficulties
• Product-fit problems
• Added costs or delays
RC may identify an apparent concern as a courtesy, but reviewing or processing a Customer or third-party design does not make RC responsible for that design.
-
APPLIANCES AND FIXTURES
The Customer must provide final appliance, sink, faucet, hood, and fixture specifications before design approval and ordering.
The Customer is responsible for confirming:
• Exact model numbers
• Manufacturer specifications
• Required openings
• Door and drawer clearances
• Ventilation requirements
• Utility locations
• Installation requirements
• Trim-kit requirements
• Weight and support requirements
RC is not responsible for conflicts caused by missing, incorrect, preliminary, substituted, or later-changed appliance or fixture information.
-
INSTALLATION BY RC
Cabinet installation by RC is included only when stated in a separate written proposal or agreement.
The installation scope, price, schedule, exclusions, payment terms, and project-specific requirements will be stated in that agreement.
Unless specifically included in writing, RC cabinet installation does not include:
• Demolition
• Debris removal
• Structural work
• Framing correction
• Drywall repair
• Painting
• Flooring work
• Plumbing
• Electrical work
• HVAC work
• Gas-line work
• Countertops
• Backsplash
• Appliance installation
• Permit fees
• Engineering
• Hazardous-material testing or remediation
• Correction of pre-existing conditions
Conditions that differ from the approved scope may require additional work, time, or cost.
Additional work must be documented through a written change order or separate agreement.
-
INSTALLATION BY THE CUSTOMER OR A THIRD PARTY
If the Customer chooses another installer, contractor, or trade professional, the Customer is solely responsible for selecting, supervising, coordinating, and paying that person or company.
The Customer-selected installer must:
• Verify all products before installation
• Verify all site conditions
• Confirm cabinet placement
• Confirm appliance and utility clearances
• Follow manufacturer instructions
• Use appropriate fasteners and installation methods
• Protect the products from damage
• Complete safe and code-compliant work
• Stop work if damage, missing products, incorrect products, or unsafe conditions are discovered
RC is not responsible for improper installation, unsafe work, field modifications, damage, misalignment, adjustment problems, code violations, warranty loss, or other problems caused by the Customer, a third-party installer, or another trade.
-
INSPECTION BEFORE INSTALLATION
All cabinets and components must be opened, counted, and inspected before assembly, modification, or installation.
The Customer and installer must confirm:
• Correct product code
• Correct size
• Correct finish
• Correct quantity
• Correct door or drawer configuration
• Acceptable visible condition
• Required parts and accessories
• Compatibility with the approved layout
Visible damage, shortages, or incorrect products must be reported to RC within 48 hours after delivery or pickup.
A product with an apparent issue must not be assembled, modified, or installed without written authorization.
Installing or modifying an affected product may prevent a return, carrier claim, supplier claim, or warranty remedy.
-
JOBSITE READINESS
Before an RC measurement or installation appointment, the Customer must ensure that the work area is:
• Safely accessible
• Clean and reasonably clear
• Dry
• Protected from weather
• Supplied with appropriate power and lighting
• Free from uncontrolled hazards
• Ready for the scheduled scope of work
Unless included in RC’s written scope, required demolition and rough plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing, flooring, and wall work must be complete before installation.
The Customer must:
• Identify known concealed utilities
• Disclose hazardous or unsafe conditions
• Provide lawful access and parking
• Coordinate building or community access
• Keep children and pets away from the work area
• Secure valuables and personal property
• Coordinate other contractors and trades
-
UNREADY OR UNSAFE JOBSITE
RC may suspend or reschedule work if the jobsite is unsafe, inaccessible, incomplete, or not ready for the scheduled services.
Conditions that may require suspension include:
• Active water leaks
• Exposed unsafe wiring
• Suspected hazardous materials
• Structural concerns
• Incomplete demolition
• Incomplete rough trade work
• Excessive debris
• Missing products
• Inaccurate site information
• Other contractors interfering with the work area
• Lack of required access or utilities
Delays, return trips, remobilization, storage, or additional work caused by an unready or unsafe site may result in additional charges.
-
EXISTING AND CONCEALED CONDITIONS
RC is not responsible for pre-existing, concealed, or unknown conditions that could not reasonably be identified during the agreed measurement or installation scope.
These may include:
• Out-of-square walls
• Uneven floors
• Uneven ceilings
• Bowed walls
• Hidden plumbing
• Hidden electrical wiring
• Hidden HVAC components
• Inadequate framing
• Moisture damage
• Mold
• Pest damage
• Hazardous materials
• Structural deficiencies
• Prior improper construction
• Code violations
Necessary corrections are outside RC’s scope unless added in writing.
-
FIELD ADJUSTMENTS
Cabinet installation commonly requires reasonable field adjustments, including leveling, shimming, scribing, filler adjustment, trim fitting, and alignment.
Minor field adjustments consistent with normal cabinet-installation practice do not constitute a product defect or design error.
Material design changes, replacement products, or work beyond normal installation adjustments require Customer approval and may involve added charges.
-
OTHER TRADES
RC is not responsible for the scheduling, quality, conduct, or work of plumbers, electricians, countertop fabricators, flooring installers, appliance installers, painters, builders, or other third parties unless expressly stated in writing.
The Customer is responsible for coordinating those trades and ensuring their work is compatible with the cabinetry project.
Damage or delay caused by another trade is the responsibility of the Customer and the applicable contractor.
-
PROJECT SCHEDULING
Product availability, assembly, delivery, pickup, and installation dates are estimates unless RC expressly guarantees a date in writing.
The Customer should not schedule demolition, countertop templating, other trades, or property occupancy until all required products have been received, opened, counted, and inspected.
RC is not responsible for costs caused by scheduling other work based solely on an estimated product or installation date.
-
CUSTOMER PRESENCE AND DECISIONS
The Customer or an authorized decision-maker must be reasonably available during measurement, design review, and installation to answer questions and approve unexpected changes when necessary.
Delay caused by an unavailable decision-maker may affect the schedule and may result in additional charges.
-
WARRANTY AND INSTALLATION RESPONSIBILITY
Manufacturer warranty coverage may be affected by improper storage, assembly, modification, installation, use, or maintenance.
If RC did not perform the affected work, the Customer must pursue workmanship concerns directly with the installer or contractor who performed that work.
RC may assist with a properly documented manufacturer product claim but is not responsible for third-party labor, removal, reinstallation, travel, storage, freight, or project-delay costs unless agreed in writing.
-
POLICY ACCEPTANCE
By approving a design, paying an invoice, placing an order, or authorizing measurement or installation services, the Customer acknowledges that they have reviewed and accepted this policy.
